PRISON BREAK | Tabea Damerau
Acts Chapter 10 - 12 would make an excellent thriller. Reading it gives me feelings of suspense, excitement, surprise and anxiety.
I love Bible stories that not only reveal who God is, but also have some great entertainment value. God is by far the best storyteller ever. He has proven this numerous times throughout the entire Bible, revealing plot twist after plot twist and providing character development like no one else.
When you read Acts Chapters 10 - 12, put on an adventurous soundtrack* and get ready for a wild story.

Storyline:
An angel appears to Captain Cornelius, who is working for the Italian government, and he reveals the exact location of a man named Peter and commissions Cornelius to go find him.
Meanwhile, Peter falls into a trance during intense prayer. The vision he sees is deeply disturbing for him as God Himself asks him repeatedly to eat food that is not kosher–food he has never eaten before. As Peter is still trying to understand what this all means, Cornelius’ troops enter the house where Peter is staying and ask him to come meet Cornelius. Because Peter understands that this is what the vision was about, he agrees to go with them.
Back at Cornelius’ house, Peter addresses the unique gathering, given that Jews usually don’t associate with Gentiles. However, Peter takes the chance to tell everyone about Jesus Christ, how He is the reason for their unity and that He is the Saviour of all mankind.
Shortly after that, and simply for popularity ratings, King Herod, the murderer of James, arrests Peter and has him placed in a maximum security prison, planning a public execution after the holidays. The very night Herod had planned to have Peter executed, an angel appears in the prison cell. Peter gets dressed and walks out past several guards. Supernaturally, the iron doors open before them and within minutes he is set free. Because of Herod’s arrogance, God sends another angel to wipe out the head of state. Undignified, he dies a miserable death. Meanwhile, the Church grows and spreads like a wildfire over all of Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria.
